Security in plain language
Your plan belongs to your household.
Security controls are designed around authenticated people, explicit household membership and the minimum access needed.
Accounts and household permissions
Authentication uses a managed identity provider. Household membership and role checks are enforced by the application service, not merely hidden in the browser. One household cannot read another household's plan through normal application requests.
Invitations use expiring, single-purpose codes. Share an invitation only with the intended person and never post access codes publicly.
Encryption and payments
Connections use HTTPS encryption in transit. Stored application data and backups use the hosting platform's encryption at rest.
Paid checkout and card handling are provided by Stripe. Chapterwise does not store full card numbers or card security codes. It stores only the billing references and subscription state needed to provide access.
Retention, deletion and privacy
Account and household controls provide routes to export or request deletion of supported data. Some billing, security or legal records may need to be retained for a limited period; the applicable privacy notice governs those cases.
Public calculators run in the browser and do not require an account. Their financial inputs are not included in URLs or analytics events.
Protect your account and report concerns
Use a unique password, protect the email or identity account used to sign in, review household members and avoid sharing invitation codes. Sign out on shared devices.
During the invitation-only private beta, report a concern through the in-app Privacy Center or by replying to the verified invitation or support thread. Do not include passwords, access codes, financial balances or identity documents in an initial report.
